'Put my food down!': Entitled old couple bother a waitress on her break, but she refuses to let them dehumanize her and steamroll a precious 15-minute break

According to entitled restaurant goers, waiters and waitresses are just NPCs—not human beings. Believing that servers live to serve and don't have biological human needs like an appetite, a need for rest, and a whole slew of unanswered text messages at the end of a long shift, customers often treat their restaurant staff like garbage. But this woman, a diligent and hardworking server, wouldn't stand for the elderly couple that came in and stomped all over her previous 15-minute break. 

Because in the service industry, that 15 minutes of relief are like a lifeline of survival.

  • When you're in the weeds on a shift, it's hard to carve out a free moment to eat. Starving and fighting off a lingering headache, servers tend to put the needs of the customers before their own. However, when a pair of old-timers tried to steal this woman's lunch, she wouldn't stand for it. Luckily for us readers, this is one waitress who wouldn't roll over and let people mistreat her in the workplace.
